Spring 2018 Volunteer Advocate Training
November 2, 2017
Do you want to make a difference in the lives of Open Arms’ clients? We are always looking for compassionate individuals — volunteer advocates — to answer our 24-hour emergency hotline and meet sexual assault survivors at the hospital. If becoming a volunteer advocate is something that interests you, please fill out our application and return it to our Director of Volunteer Services. After a short interview and a background check, we’ll enroll you in our required 40-hour training, which is approved and directed by the Office of the Attorney General.
We offer our advocate training twice a year. The next opportunity will our Spring 2018 class, which begins March 24 and runs through April 7. Snacks are available and lunch will be provided each Saturday. The class schedule is as follows:
Saturday, March 24: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday, March 27: 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 29: 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Saturday, March 31: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday, April 3: 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Thursday, April 5: 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Saturday, April 7: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
